Others

Mark Knopfler also often takes part in recordings by other well-known artists. In 1979 and 1983 he worked with Bob Dylan for the records Slow Train Coming and Infidels . His unmistakable guitar sound can also be heard in the song It's Money That Matters (1988) by Randy Newman . Already in 1982 there was a collaboration with Van Morrison on his album Beautiful Vision . Mark Knopfler can be heard there on the songs Cleaning Windows and Aryan Mist . Even Gerry Rafferty took for his penultimate album Another World his services for three titles. With the slide guitarist Sonny Landreth Knopfler played several times in studio recordings; In return, Landreth contributed some guitar parts for Knopfler's album Golden Heart . In addition, Mark Knopfler recorded the song Nobody's Here Anymore with John Fogerty in 2004 and played solo guitar for Bill Wyman's song Disappearing Nightly .
