Martin Scorsese Presents The Blues: A Musical Journey is a 5 CD box with the soundtrack for the documentary film series The Blues , which was produced by Martin Scorsese and released like the CD box in 2003. The 5 CDs offer an overview of the history of the blues from its beginnings to the year of publication. Numerous varieties of the blues and related styles are presented by many important musicians. A total of 116 pieces of music can be heard on the 5 CDs. The box also contains a 60-page booklet with explanatory texts for all songs, many illustrations and an essay by Tom Piazza .

In 2004 the box won two Grammy Awards in the categories "Best Historical Album" and "Best Album Notes". In the same year it reached number 2 on the Billboard Top Blues Albums chart.

Martin Scorsese Presents the Blues: A Musical Journey is also the title of a companion book to the series The Blues, also published in 2003. The authors include Peter Guralnick , Robert Santelli, Holly George-Warren, and Christopher John Farley.
