Michael Freiberg (born October 10, 1990 ) is an Australian track and road cyclist .

Athletic career

Michael Freiberg was Australian runner-up in the team pursuit of the junior class in 2007. The following year he won the junior team pursuit at the Australian track championship together with Luke Durbridge , Jonathan Dunlop and Jordan Van der Togt . From 2009 to 2010 Freiberg drove for the Australian Continental Team Team Jayco-Skins . At the Commonwealth Games 2010 he won two gold medals, in team pursuit and in scratch .

In 2011 Michael Freiberg became world champion in the Omnium . In 2013 he first finished a cycling career. In 2016 he became active again as a cyclist. In the following year he was Australian champion in the team pursuit together with Stephen Hall , Sam Welsford and Cameron Meyer . In January 2019 he won the national title of road champion. At the Oceania Championships in the same year he was third in the individual time trial .

Apart from active cycling, Michael Freiberg is the inventor of bicycle components that electronically support cycling training.
