The Israeli Ministry of Justice ( Hebrew מִשְׂרָד הַמִשְׁפָּטִים Misrad ha-Mishpatim ) is responsible for judicial policy. The Minister of Justice of Israel (שר המשפטים) ( Sar HaMishpatim ) heads the Ministry of Justice.

The Ministry of Justice's responsibilities are numerous and include legal counseling and legalization, the prosecutor's office, civil legal assistance, public defense, the public trustee and public bankruptcy administrator, the land settlement registration office, the chief government appraiser, the national center for mediation , various Registries such as the commercial register, the register for patents, designs and trademarks, the information warehouse register, plus registries and offices for professional licensing, as well as the council for officially licensed accountants, the council of basic appraisers, the mediation register and the office for the licensing of private investigators and security services .

Another authority was assigned to the Ministry in 2001, which deals with legal prosecution and punishment under the Money Laundering Act and, as the central authority, coordinates the activities of the authorities involved against the phenomenon of increasing money laundering. In 2001, a newly established authority (Registrar of Authorizing Bodies) was subordinated to the Ministry of Justice and implemented the newly passed law on electronic signatures. Finally, the Office of Ombudsman , which was established in 2003, is assigned to the Ministry of Justice .
