concept
In each show, candidates have to complete two obstacle courses (four in the finale of season 2) in the shortest possible time. The courses are designed differently in each show, but contain comparable and in some cases identical elements. Above all, the candidates need athletic skills such as strength, endurance or body control. To receive the title Ninja Warrior , the candidates must pass all stations and at the end conquer the final Mount Midoriyama course by using a rope in the given time (22 m in 30 seconds in season 2, 20 m in 25 seconds in season 3 ) climb up. In addition, the winner will receive a six-figure bonus (100,000 euros in season 1, 200,000 euros in season 2, 300,000 euros in season 3) should they complete the course in full.

Fourth season (2019)
From a large number of applicants, a total of 294 candidates took part in the show. There were again seven preliminary round shows with 42 candidates each, in which the best 15 made it into the semi-final qualification. This was followed by a semi-final show with 54 candidates and a final show with 27 candidates. This year, for the first time, there were rules designed to make it easier for women to qualify for the next round, but these special rules only applied in the preliminary round. In addition, there was the mega wall ( 5.5 meters) in the first round , which could be climbed at the end of the course, for which a special bonus of € 2,000 was paid. A total of eleven athletes succeeded in this. The semi-final course was only completely mastered by four athletes (Alexander Wurm, Joel Mattli, René Kaselowsky, Benjamin Reichmann). For the first time two women (Stefanie Noppinger, Arleen Schüßler) made it into the final. Arleen Schüßler came a little further in the final than Stefanie Noppinger and therefore achieved the newly introduced title “Last Woman Standing”. Last man standing was Alexander Wurm , just before Moritz Hans last year , but this time did not reach Mount Midoriyama.

Team ninja warrior
First season (2018)
The first German team Ninja Warrior took place from April 22nd to May 27th, 2018 . In this version, the candidates do not compete individually, but in teams of three. Each team consists of two men and one woman. Eight teams compete in each show. In the preliminary round, the three members of a team play in direct duels against another team, with the women always forming a duel. There is one point for the winner of the first two runs and two points for the winner of the third run. If there is a tie after three runs, there is an additional run-off. In the knockout round, the four winning teams each compete against a losing team. The four winners advance one round, the losers in the knockout round are eliminated. The winning teams compete in the final qualification, which is held as a relay race in which each team member has to overcome three of a total of nine obstacles. The faster team reaches the final show.
In the grand finale, the “Magic Monkeys” team ( René Kaselowsky, Simon Brunner, Denise Pirnbacher ) prevailed against the “Queen of Kingz” team (Arleen Schüßler, Benedikt Sigmund, Christian Harmat) and won the prize money of € 100,000.

In addition, the team that runs the fastest time in this lap in its episode will receive a bonus of € 3,000.
