North Sylt

North Sylt is a nature reserve in the Schleswig-Holstein communities of List on Sylt and Kampen (Sylt) in the district of North Friesland .

The nature reserve borders directly on the nature reserves " Wadden Sea north of Hindenburgdamm ", " Kampener Vogelkoje on Sylt ", " Nielönn / Sylt " and "Dune landscape on the Red Cliff / Sylt" as well as the Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea National Park . It extends over a large part of the island of Sylt north of Kampen and places the dune landscape with flora and fauna under protection.

meaning

The 1796 hectare nature reserve is registered under number 1 in the directory of nature reserves of the Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Areas. It was designated in 1923 and was the first protected area on the island of Sylt . The current nature reserve was designated in 1980 (date of regulation: May 23, 1980). It is part of the FFH area "Dune and Heathland North Sylt" and the EU bird sanctuary "Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea and adjacent coastal areas". The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of North Friesland.

The nature reserve is looked after by the Söl'ring Foriining-Sylter Verein.
