The Süderlügumer inland dunes (Danish: Sønder Løgum Klit ) are a nature reserve in the Schleswig-Holstein municipality of Süderlügum in the district of North Friesland .

The approximately 41.5 hectare nature reserve is entered under number 28 in the directory of nature reserves of the Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Areas. It was expelled in 1983 (date of regulation: November 7, 1938). The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of North Friesland.

The nature reserve is located east of Süderlügum within the 809 hectare FFH area of the same name . It protects a largely unforested inland dune landscape. The inland dunes were created from deposited drifting sands after the Vistula Ice Age . The area is largely free of anthropogenic influences. Some of the dune fields are still in motion today.

The sanctuary is a habitat for numerous animals and plants that rely on open landscapes, including numerous insects such as bees , wasps and butterflies . Also come u. a. Skylark , Stonechat and Red-backed Shrike and adder , grass snake , slow worm , fence and Waldeidechse and spadefoot ago. As food guests also have cranes , fish and eagles to be found.

Several hiking trails run through the nature reserve, which has a viewing platform from which the dune landscape can be viewed . Parts of the area, which is managed by the Schleswig-Holstein State Forests , is temporarily grazed with sheep and goats for maintenance in order to push back grasses.
