The Leckfeld is a nature reserve in the Schleswig-Holstein communities of Leck and Tinningstedt in the North Friesland district .

The nature reserve designated in 2019 (date of regulation: October 17, 2019) is around 206  hectares in size. It is registered under number 213 in the directory of nature reserves of the Ministry for Energy Transition, Agriculture, Environment, Nature and Digitization . The 111 hectare FFH area of ​​the same name is completely part of the nature reserve. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of North Friesland.

The nature reserve, which consists of two partial areas, is located north of Leck in northwest Schleswig-Holstein. It places the area of ​​the former Leck Air Base north of the runway and the areas adjacent to it, as well as an area adjacent to the Karlum Forest, under protection. The area is characterized by large, lean open landscapes with grassland , sandy heaths , wet heaths , fens and small bodies of water. The grassland areas are partially designed as nebulized grass lawns or other poor grasslands as well as dry grasslands . Hedges , groups of trees and small wooded areas are scattered in the nature reserve . In the northwest of the protected area, parts of the area are used for agriculture as grassland or arable land.

The heather locations are characterized by broom or bell heather , depending on the location . The nature reserve is home to several endangered species, including milkwort , Forest lousewort , Parnassus , bog lily , lung and marsh gentian , dwarf , Gelbsegge , Moonwort , butterwort and sundew and various orchids .

The area is the habitat of various butterflies , including the blue vetch and the purple gold fire butterfly . It is also home to stocks of the endangered common spadefoot toad .

The nature reserve is often surrounded by agricultural land . The development of an industrial park is planned south of the runway . The area in the north borders on the Karlumer Forest.
