Panagiotis Vlachodimos ( Greek Παναγιώτης Βλαχοδήμος , born October 12, 1991 in Stuttgart-Wangen ) is a German - Greek soccer player and a brother of the soccer goalkeeper Odisseas Vlachodimos .

Career

Vlachodimos began playing football in 1996 at what was then VfL Stuttgart-Wangen (now SportKultur Stuttgart ). In 2001 he moved to VfB Stuttgart . In the 2007/08 season he scored four goals in 23 games in the founding season of the B-Junioren-Bundesliga and took third place in the South / Southwest relay with the team at the end of the season. With 22 games and two goals from Vlachodimos, the U-19s of VfB Stuttgart ended the 2008/09 season in fifth place in the south / south-west of the A-Junior Bundesliga . Vlachodimos made his professional debut on April 3, 2010 on the 32nd matchday of the 2009/10 season as a youth player for the second team of VfB Stuttgart in the third division against Wacker Burghausen .

For the 2011/12 season, Vlachodimos moved to Skoda Xanthi in the Greek Super League after contract negotiations with the former Bundesliga professional and sports director Kostas Konstantinidis . There he came to 27 missions in the first season and scored three goals. At the beginning of May he was awarded the title of Rookie of the Year . That made him the best newcomer in the Greek league.

For the 2012/13 season , the Greek first division club Olympiakos Piraeus signed Vlachodimos. He signed a contract valid until June 30, 2017.

Vlachodimos was awarded to FC Augsburg in the 2013/14 season . He made his Bundesliga debut for Augsburg on August 10, 2013 (1st matchday) in the 0: 4 defeat in the home game against Borussia Dortmund ; this was also his only use for Augsburg in the Bundesliga. The loan agreement was terminated early by mutual agreement at the end of 2013. Until the end of the season he was loaned to the Greek first division club AO Platanias , to Ergotelis in the first half of the 2014/15 season and from January 2015 to the French second division club Olympique Nimes.

In summer 2019 Vlachodimos returned to his Swabian homeland and joined the third division club SG Sonnenhof Großaspach . On August 23, he signed a contract that was valid until 2021. The very next day he made his debut as a substitute for his new club, which however lost his home game against Viktoria Köln 3-0. With 29 league appearances (5 goals) Vlachodimos belonged to the regular staff at Großaspach, but at the end of the season the club was relegated to the regional league as penultimate. Vlachodimos remained in the third division with his free transfer to Dynamo Dresden .

National team

Vlachodimos has played for the Greek U-19 and U-21 national teams, among others . He was called up again in April 2010 for the elite round of the U-19 European Championship 2010 in this selection. His younger brother Odisseas Vlachodimos played for many German youth national selection teams, rather he decided at the end of October 2018 to play for the Greek national team in the future.
