Pfuri, Gorps & Kniri was an internationally known blues / folk band from Switzerland. It was founded in 1974. The members were Pfuri Baldenweg , Anthony 'Gorps' Fischer (1947–2000) and Peter 'Kniri' Knaus . The band's trademark was making music with everyday objects such as lawnmowers, garbage cans, plastic bags, mouse traps and garden hoses. That produced an unmistakable sound and was also a pointer to our throwaway society . The trio played their own hits as well as new interpretations of old blues and folk songs.

The group performed at the Roskilde Festival in 1978 and at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 1977 and 1979 . They also took with Peter, Sue & Marc at the Euro Vision Song Contest 1979 , where she with Flea & Co tenth place occupied. In addition to their live concerts, the band also became known through TV appearances on well-known programs such as the Peter Alexander Show , Bio's Bahnhof , Rose d'Or and 1, 2 or 3 . In 1981 the continued popularity led to the production of the German feature film "Pfuri, Gorps & Kniri im Hotel".
