Philipp Weber (born July 22, 1974 in Miltenberg , Lower Franconia ) is a German cabaret artist and author .

Life

Philipp Weber grew up in Amorbach in the Odenwald . After graduating from high school and doing community service at the Bavarian Red Cross , he moved to Tübingen to study in 1996 . There he began to study German , psychology , history and medicine , but switched to biology and chemistry in 1998 . He graduated from these two subjects in 2003 with the first state examination. He has been a full-time cabaret artist and author since 2004. He is with the artist Inka Meyer and lives in Tübingen and Frankfurt am Main .

Philipp Weber gained his first stage experience during his studies at poetry slams . In 1999 he represented Tübingen at the German International Poetry Slam (GIPS) in Weimar . He was also involved in student cabaret. He made his debut in 1999 with his first program Das Hölderlin Syndrome in the Brechtbautheater of the New Philology Faculty of the University of Tübingen . From 2001 he played increasingly outside of the student milieu and after completing his studies devoted himself entirely to cabaret .

From 2004 to 2014 Philipp Weber was a member of the First German Forced Ensemble . The ensemble consisted of Weber and his colleagues Mathias Tretter and Claus von Wagner . Until 2009 they played the program Mach 3! . Her second cabaret program The Last Tour (from 2009 to 2014) was awarded the German Cabaret Prize in 2010 .

Philipp Weber's artistic repertoire ranges from biting satire to bizarre comedy . In his play for the stage food - strictly digestible! (Premiere 2010, director: Georg Koeniger ) is the first time that Philipp Weber draws on his knowledge as a scientist : His declared aim is to convey consumer protection in a sophisticated and entertaining way through the possibilities of humor . From February to March 2016, Philipp Weber, along with his colleague and presenter Mathias Tretter, provided an “educational level” on Bavarian television in the Schwabing clubhouse.

Philipp Weber's nutritional advisor “Everyone can eat! - strictly digestible ”was published in 2013 by Random House (Blessing). In 2014, he and his partner, the artist Inka Meyer , published a satirical cultural history of food at Tre Torri Verlag : “Ragout vom Mammut - 12 crazy cooking stories”.
