Pinhal Interior Norte is a statistical sub-region of Portugal . It is part of the Região Centro and divided between the districts of Coimbra and Leiria . The region borders Dão-Lafões in the north, Serra de Estrela and Cova da Beira in the east, Pinhal Interior Sul and Médio Tejo in the south and Pinhal Litoral and Baixo Mondego in the west . Area: 2617 km². Population (2001): 138 543. The sub-region is divided into 14 districts:
