occupation

A German crime film by Bodo Fürneisen from the year 2000 is up to the last second . It is the 220th episode in the film series Polizeiruf 110 and the 13th case for Schmücke and Schneider . In this case, the commissioners are investigating a hostage situation.

action

The newly married daughter of the Chief Public Prosecutor Werner Baumann is kidnapped in order to force the release of Karl Hrulitschka, who is currently in prison for murder. The kidnappers convey their message via a videotape that they put in front of Baumann's son-in-law.

Since Schmücke and Schneider can not find any clues about Hrulitschka's backers, the felon has to be released so as not to endanger Sophie's life. The police secured the escape route, but could not pursue the fugitive because he was using a hostage at the place where he was released. Schmücke finds out that his ex-girlfriend Melanie Kaminski helped him with this, whom he only pretended to take hostage.

After several analyzes, the forensic scientist is of the opinion that the picture of Sophie must have been taken in a cave. Red rock in the background indicates a tunnel in the Mansfeld region . Independently of the police, Thomas Noack is also looking for his wife and can actually find her. A scuffle breaks out between him and the kidnapper, who turns out to be his employee, Frank Sattler. When the police arrive, they find Noack seriously injured, but no trace of Sophia.

Hrulitschka continues to put the police under pressure. According to Schmücke's research, the criminal wants to leave for Brazil with 2 million from his last robbery. But for this he needs his passport, which should bring him jewelry. Meanwhile, he hides Sophie in the trunk of a car that he has provided with a bomb that he wants to detonate with a remote ignition in an emergency. Schmücke suspects Hrulitschka's plan because the perpetrator used explosives in all of his attacks. With the help of special detection dogs, it is possible to find the right car in the airport parking lot.

While Schmücke prevented Hrulitschka from taking off with gun violence, Schneider was able to free Sophia from the car. When the fugitive detonates the car, the hostage is already safe.
