The series of events began on February 2, 2017 at the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle and ended on May 18, 2017 at the O2 Arena in London with the play-offs. A total of 16 game days were played.
The Premier League totaled £ 825,000 in prize money, £ 100,000 more than last year.

As in the previous year, the first four players of the PDC Order of Merit (deadline: January 2nd, 2017, after the final of the PDC World Darts Championship 2017 ) qualified for the Premier League . In addition, four other players will receive a wildcard for the Premier League from the PDC and two more from Sky Sports . Compared to last year, Michael Smith and Robert Thornton have to leave the field.
