Pribeta (until 1948 Perbete in Slovak - until 1927 Perbeta ; Hungarian Perbete ) is a municipality in south-western Slovakia . It is located in the Danube Plain , 10 km east of Hurbanovo and 24 km northeast of Komárno .
The place was first mentioned in writing as Perbethe in 1312 .
Until 1918 the community in Komorn County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to the newly formed Czechoslovakia . She came back to Hungary for a short time from 1938 to 1945 through the First Vienna Arbitration .
77% of the residents living in the village are of Hungarian and 23% of Slovak descent (as of 2001).
