Patince (Hungarian Path or older Pat ) is a municipality in southern Slovakia . It is located on the border between the Danube Plain and the Danube Hills , on the banks of the Danube , about 15 km from Komárno and is the southernmost municipality in Slovakia.
The place was first mentioned in writing as terra Poth in 1268 , but was never an independent municipality until it was separated from the municipality of Marcelová in 1957.
