history

Roman Catholic Church
reformed Church

Veľké Kosihy was first mentioned in writing in 1268 as Kezu, alias villa Kezu . Other historical names include Kezu Maior (1272), Nagkezew (1380) and Nagy Kesyi (1773). In the early Middle Ages the area was owned by the castles of Bana (near Banka ) and Szolgagyőr (near Dvorníky ), and in 1266 it came under the rule of Komorn Castle. Nagykeszi later became the property of various families of the lower nobility. During the Turkish Wars , the village was heavily devastated and only settled again permanently towards the end of the 17th century. In 1828 there were 51 houses and 249 inhabitants who were employed as fishermen and farmers. The last large landowners came from the Fejérváry and Zámory families .

Until 1918/1919 the place in Komorn County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia. As a result of the First Vienna Arbitration Award, Moča was once again part of Hungary between 1938 and 1945.

After the Second World War, the community was electrified between 1952 and 1954. The Danube flood in 1965 caused great damage, but the reconstruction was completed again within a very short time with the help of the Czechoslovak districts of Praha-západ and Beroun.
