Kameničná (until 1948 Slovak "Keszegfalva"; Hungarian Keszegfalva ) is a municipality in southwest Slovakia with 1905 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019), which belongs to Okres Komárno , a part of Nitriansky kraj .
geography
The municipality is located in the Slovak Danube lowlands on the river island Žitný ostrov , on the right bank of the Váh . The center of the village lies at an altitude of 110 m nm and is 11 kilometers from Komárno and 13 kilometers from Kolárovo .
Administratively, the municipality is divided into the parts Balvany and Kameničná.
history
Kameničná was first mentioned in writing in 1482 as the Komorn Castle estate . Due to frequent flooding of the Waag, the original location was rebuilt away from the river in the 18th century. In 1887 the village was still a town. The population lived mainly from agriculture and fishing; the second occupation is still symbolically represented on the coat of arms.
Until 1919, the place in Komorn County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia . Due to the First Vienna Arbitration Award , he was again in Hungary from 1938 to 1945.
After the Second World War, the place was given a Slovak place name for national political reasons and the municipality was repeatedly reduced in size. B. by outsourcing in 1968 to the new municipality Vrbová nad Váhom on the other bank of the Váh.
