Reports
Day 1 (Thursday, February 13th)
The Rally Sweden traditionally started on Thursday with a shakedown as a training session. The race covered 7.21 kilometers in Torsby , where Kalle Rovanperä set the fastest time in a special stage for the first time in his career. The first regular special stage should start in Karlstad in the evening . However, this was converted into another training unit, there was no rating for the classification. Jari-Matti Latvala won the 1.9 kilometer sprint .
Day 2 (Friday, February 14th)
On Friday the first special stages were on the program. Due to the mild temperatures, only four instead of seven special stages were driven in the Norwegian-Swedish border area. Elfyn Evans won the first special stage of the day. Ott Tänak won the second section . Jari-Matti Latvala made a spin and lost 40 seconds on top. Latvala ran into technical problems with his privately financed Toyota Yaris WRC and did not compete in the final sprint in Torsby . Ott Tänak took victory there with a 0.2 second lead over Elfyn Evans. Elfyn Evans won the second and fourth special stages of the day and took the lead in the overall standings from Kalle Rovanperä .
3rd day (Saturday, February 15th)
The originally planned tests at Torntorp , Hagfors and Vargåsen including the famous Colin´s Crest jump fell victim to the mild temperatures. Instead, the second part originally planned for the day before was held. Elfyn Evans dominated the day and won three of four special stages. Only Thierry Neuville could win the final sprint. In the evening Evans was in front of Ott Tänak and Sébastien Ogier , who was only 0.5 seconds ahead of Kalle Rovanperä .
4th day (Sunday, February 16)
On the last day of the race, they only drove the final 21.29 kilometer special stage as a power stage. Kalle Rovanperä won the special stage and secured third place in the overall standings in front of his team mate Sébastien Ogier , who was third. Thierry Neuville finished the Power Stage as the best Hyundai driver in second place. In the overall standings Neuville came in sixth, while his teammate Ott Tänak came in second.
