Red Devils MC

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Red Devils MC (also 18 4 for RD = Red Devils) is a motorcycle and rocker club . It is considered the largest and most important supporter club (supporter club) of the Hells Angels . There are currently around 130 international charters in a total of 16 countries, with the club in Europe focusing on Germany , the Netherlands and Scandinavia .

background

Even if the Red Devils MC is closely associated with the Hells Angels and acts as a supporter, it is formally an independent motorcycle club. He has his own rules that are not as strict as those of the Hells Angels. For example, there is no Harley requirement and Japanese machines are also possible. In addition, the admission conditions are less strict, which enables the club to expand faster compared to the Hells Angels. However, the view that the MC is independent is not shared by representatives of the authorities, who state that the club is clearly "subject to the strict order structures [of the Hells Angels]". It is not uncommon for proven members of the Red Devils to be accepted into the Hells Angels. In some cases, as in Flensburg , for example , the Red Devils were the direct successors to the forbidden Hells Angel charter and even took over the premises. The club expresses its close association with the Hells Angels through the colors white and red, but supplemented by black, as well as through the frequent use of the number " 81 " (8 = H, 1 = A, HA = Hells Angels). It is also common to attend the other club's parties and common meeting places. The back patch of the Red Devils consists of the lettering with the club name Red Devils (Top Rocker), the abbreviation MC for Motorcycle Club and the name of the respective country charter as "bottom rocker". The club emblem is a comic-style red horned devil.

Charter

The Red Devils MC is divided into many smaller clubs, so-called charter. Apparently the club has been expanding in recent years, in 2009 alone thirteen new charters were founded in Lower Saxony . In Germany, charter can be found in Ansbach , Berlin , Bernburg , Cottbus , Eberswalde , Brandenburg an der Havel , Braunschweig , Celle , Chemnitz , Darmstadt , Erfurt , Flensburg , Frankfurt am Main , Hanover , Helmstedt , Heiligenstadt, Hoyerswerda , Konstanz , Leer , Leipzig , Lübeck , Neumünster , Nienburg / Weser , Paderborn , Peine , Potsdam , Ramstein , Rostock , Salzgitter , Stendal , Stadthagen , Schönebeck , Tuttlingen , Uelzen , Uckermark , Villingen , Walsrode , Wilhelmshaven and Wolfenbüttel . Charter can be found worldwide in Australia , Belgium , Brazil , Chile , China , Italy , Luxembourg , New Zealand , Sweden , Singapore , South Africa , Turkey and the USA .

Alleged criminal activity

Like the Hells Angels, their supporter club has been implicated in criminal activity. The club is often said to work for the Hells Angels and, among other things, to work for them in the drug and red light district , to operate arms and human trafficking and to enforce territorial claims of the Hells Angels. In Germany, the internal security authorities suspect criminal activities of the Red Devils MC, which extend to the allegation of organized crime . In Bremen, for example, the police count the Red Devils MC among the so-called “ Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs ” (OMCG) in order to distinguish them from “normal” motorcycle clubs. Probably because of the connections between the Red Devils and the Hells Angels, conflicts arose with the Bandidos MC and the MC committee . There were problems with the MC committee in Lower Saxony , among other places , where, according to the Lower Saxony Ministry of the Interior, disputes could only be prevented by "providing early clarification and timely intervention by the police". In Thuringia , the club is monitored by the protection of the constitution and treated as a criminal organization.

In 2011 members of the Red Devil MC Erfurt sued the state of Thuringia because the Thuringian Ministry of the Interior classified the club as a " criminal organization " and passed this on to the Thuringian state parliament. Before the Administrative Court of Weimar (8 K1309 / 11), the state of Thuringia was convicted in 2012 of failing to spread or let spread the claim that the Red Devils MC Erfurt was a criminal motorcycle or biker club. The judgment was declared incontestable in 2015 by the Thuringian Higher Regional Court (2ZKO 273/13).

In the context of the spread of the Red Devils MC, rumors of infiltration by right-wing extremists emerged . The background was that well-known right-wing extremists are among the members of the Salzwedel and Wilhelmshaven chapters . In Wilhelmshaven, the members oppose being lumped together with the right-wing scene. Although members of the Red Devils in Wilhelmshaven were previously active in the right-wing scene, they have now broken away from it. Right-wing extremists were occasionally guests in the Red Devils clubhouse in Stadthagen. In 2011 a neo-Nazi organized a concert by the right-wing rock band “ Category C ” in the Stadthäger clubhouse. In 2012, a charter of the Red Devils in Cologne was banned by NRW Interior Minister Ralf Jäger .
