The ring Sport in Switzerland is traditional popular, said wings occupying a larger position and is in Switzerland national sport.

The international amateur wrestling federation FILA is based in Lausanne , where a world championship and a European championship have so far been held.

Swing

The swing is the Swiss variant of wrestling and is played on a circular competition area sprinkled with sawdust . The swing is more like international freestyle wrestling. The aim is to force the opponent onto his back with skillful swings (as in wrestling).

International tournaments in Switzerland

Swiss National League

The National League is run by Swiss Wrestling and is divided into two leagues, the National League A (NLA) and the National League B (NLB). In the National League A (NLA) since the 2010 season, 6 teams have been fighting for the Swiss championship title in team wrestling. The National League B is divided into two groups of 4 teams each. In the NLB, the allocation is made geographically (group west and group east). The championship consists of three phases:

  • Preliminary round: Pre- and rematch (NLB within the respective group)
  • Playoff / playout (NLA: first against fourth, second against third in the preliminary round, in a return match.
NLB: pre- and rematch. First group A against the second in group B etc.).
  • Final / relegation fights (mode: NLA final: best of three, NLA small final: round-trip and rematch, NLB: round-trip and rematch).
The two last ranked teams of the NLA / NLB compete in two promotion / relegation battles against the NLB winner and runner-up or 1st league winner and runner-up.

The current Swiss champion of the NLA is the wrestling relay Kriessern. The Einsiedeln wrestling team is the reigning NLB champion.
