Wrestling career

Beginnings

Huffman grew up in a family without a father. In his youth he was a boxer and was jailed for robbery. After his release, he joined his brother Lane and they both started wrestling training with former WWF wrestler Ivan Putski . In 1989 he made his debut in the Western Wrestling Alliance as GI Bro . A little later, the two switched to the Global Wrestling Federation (GWF) and appeared there as Ebony Express , where they were also able to win the local Tag Team title. GWF champion Sid Vicious finally made contact with World Championship Wrestling, which the team signed a little later.

World Championship Wrestling (1993-2001)

At World Championship Wrestling they then appeared as the Harlem Heat. They were allowed to win the Tag Team title ten times against teams like the Nasty Boys , Sting ( Steve Borden ) and Lex Luger , the Steiner Brothers ( Rick Steiner and Scott Steiner ) as well as Billy Kidman and Konnan.

Towards the end of 1997 the first attempt was made to establish Huffman as a single wrestler. First he was allowed to defeat Disco Inferno and win its World Television title . After he was allowed to hold the title for a few months, he had to surrender it due to injury. Upon his return, he feuded against Stevie Ray. In the spring of 1999 , Huffman was allowed to take the television title from Scott Steiner, but had to hand it over to Rick Steiner a few weeks later. In the middle of the year Harlem Heat was reunited and they were allowed to win the title again. At the Bash at the Beach 2000 he was allowed to win the World Heavyweight title from Jeff Jarrett . He was allowed to hold this title until the end of the year when he had to lose it to Scott Steiner.

Before the WCW was bought by the WWE in 2001 , Huffman was allowed to defeat Rick Steiner and became WCW United States Champion and at the last Nitro edition on March 26th, he was allowed to defeat Scott Steiner for the World Heavyweight title.
