In Leipzig, a gang of kidnappers of young people roams the streets. They raid a shop in the presence of Detective Superintendent Alvarez. The gang uses the deaf Robert as a decoy. During the chase that followed, investigators Alvarez and Maybach failed to capture the band members, and the SOKO became a mockery of the city. Chief Detective Trautzschke is angry with Miguel, but then he discovers a well-known watch while investigating a robbery in a villa.

The past catches up with Chief Detective Trautzschke: Werner Pankutz, former police officer, religious fanatic and murderer, has escaped from the prison. He had sworn revenge on Trautzschke, who had arrested him years ago. But Pankutz is also targeting Vera, the sister of the wife he killed and her daughter. A race against time begins for the SOKO.

The gas station attendant is seriously injured in a gas station robbery. The investigation focuses on a gangster couple. Adolfo Berto, an Italian landlord, refuses to pay protection money and is shot in his restaurant. The ball leads to the Russian real estate agent Alexander Turobin, whom SOKO has long suspected of extorting protection money. Chief Detective Trautzschke wants Petzold, an old friend who is in jail, to smuggle into the mafia. But the plan is spiraling out of control.

The representative Horst Meixner is murdered. He had taken two hitchhikers with him, but there is no trace of them. Detective Inspector Alvarez challenges the decathlete Bernd Rust to a race while training in the police sports club. But this collapses.
