Volkmar Kleinert

Volkmar Kleinert (born September 20, 1938 in Dresden ) is a German actor , speaker and dramaturge . He took part in over 90 theater roles and over 100 film and television productions, including for DEFA and GDR television .

Life

Kleinert was born the son of the conductor Rolf Kleinert and the operetta singer Eleonore Schramm in Dresden-Friedrichstadt. He later lived in Brandenburg / Havel, Schwerin, Stralsund, Rostock and Eisenach. After graduating from high school, he began training as an actor at the Leipzig Theater Academy in 1957 , before making his debut as an actor on the Eisenacher Landesbühne in 1960. Two years later he had an engagement in Karl-Marx-Stadt , today Chemnitz . There he met the actor and director Wolfgang Heinz , who brought him to Berlin in 1964 - after Heinz became director of the Deutsches Theater .

Kleinert made his screen debut in 1959 in Slatan Dudow's DEFA feature film Confusion of Love , where he played a small supporting role. From 1964 he was in numerous DEFA and DFF films, but also in film series such as Polizeiruf 110 and The Public Prosecutor Has the Word . Initially often in the role of the villain, later in character roles. In addition to his work as a performer, he also worked as a speaker for radio plays, such as Salieri in Peter Shaffer's Amadeus .

Even after the political change , Kleinert was one of the popular actors. In addition to his theater work, he also took on roles in film and television productions, such as the Tatort series or films such as The Lives of Others . In addition, his distinctive voice can be heard in numerous radio productions.

In 2001 Kleinert stopped working at the Deutsches Theater.

Kleinert was married to the actress Gisela Müller and has two sons. He is married for the second time and lives with his wife, the actress Regina Beyer , in Berlin-Treptow.
