The Saudi Arabian U-17 national soccer team is a selection team of Saudi Arabian soccer players . It is subject to the Saudi Arabian Football Federation and represents it internationally at the U-17 level , for example in friendly matches against the national teams of other national associations, at the U-16 Asian Cup and U-17 World Cup .

The team became world champions in 1989 and Asian champions in 1985 and 1988 .

After she was eliminated in 1985 in the quarter-finals against Brazil , she did not get beyond the preliminary round in 1987 . In 1989 she won the final on penalties against hosts Scotland and became world champion. Since the title, the team has not been able to qualify for a World Cup.

At the first Asian Cup, the Saudi Arabians managed to become Asian champions by beating Qatar 2-0 in the final . In 1986 she lost in the semi-finals against eventual Asian champions South Korea , but won the game for third place against North Korea . In 1988 she defeated Bahrain 2-0 in the final of the Asian Cup. In 1992 the team reached the semi-finals of the Asian Cup for the last time in their own country. After losing this to the eventual tournament winner China , she was able to prevail again in the game for third place against North Korea.
