Kasel-Golzig ( Lower Sorbian Kózłow-Gólsk ) is a municipality in the Dahme-Spreewald district in Brandenburg . The community belongs to the Unterspreewald office .
Community structure
The districts Jetsch and Schiebsdorf and the inhabited district of Zauche belong to the community . There is also the Wilhelmshof residential area .
history
Kasel was first mentioned in a document in 1346. The name either means place where there are goats or is derived from the personal name Kosel .
Golzig was first mentioned in a document as Golcz in 1396. The name means settlement on the forest .
In 1926 Kasel and Golzig merged to form the municipality of Kasel-Golzig.
Kasel, Golzig, Jetsch and Schiebsdorf belonged to the Luckau district in the province of Brandenburg since 1816 and to the Luckau district in the GDR district of Cottbus from 1952 . Since 1993, the places have been in the Dahme-Spreewald district of Brandenburg.
Incorporations
On October 1, 1962, the place Zauche was incorporated. The municipalities of Jetsch and Schiebsdorf joined the municipality of Kasel-Golzig on December 31, 2002 as part of the municipal reform .

Attractions
In the list of architectural monuments in Kasel-Golzig and in the list of ground monuments in Kasel-Golzig are the cultural monuments entered in the list of monuments of the state of Brandenburg.
- The classicist palace complex was built in the second half of the 18th century by the landowner Friedrich Carl Leopold, Reichsgraf zu Solms-Baruth . In the 21st century, the building is used privately.
- The Kasel-Golzig village church is a late medieval boulder building. The tower has a wooden shaft and a hood. The pulpit and altar of the church date from the 17th century.
traffic
Kasel-Golzig is on the L 71 state road between Dahme and Leibsch . The federal highway 96 between Golßen and Luckau also crosses the municipality.
