Severny ( Russian Северный , German  Klein Kannapinnen , 1938 to 1945 Kleinblecken , Lithuanian Mažieji Kanapynai ) is a place in the Russian Oblast of Kaliningrad . It belongs to the local government unit Stadtkreis Gusev in Gusevsky District .

Geographical location

Severny is located five kilometers north of the city of Gussew (Gumbinnen) on the regional road 27A-033 (ex A198 ) in the confluence area of ​​a side road coming from Judino (Blecken) . The next train station is Gussew on the Kaliningrad – Chernyshevskoye railway line of the former Prussian Eastern Railway to continue to Moscow .

The later Gutsdorf, once called Klein Cannapinnen , was first mentioned in 1596. In 1874, the place came to the newly established district of Springen (today Russian: Tamanskoje), which belonged to the Gumbinnen district in the Gumbinnen district of the Prussian province of East Prussia .

In 1910, 63 residents were registered in the Klein Kannapinnen manor. On September 30, 1928, the village gave up its independence and was incorporated into the rural community of Blecken (today Russian: Judino). On June 3 - officially confirmed on July 16 - of the year 1938, Klein Kannapinnen was renamed "Kleinblecken" and in 1945 was assigned to northern East Prussia of the Soviet Union .

In 1950 the then Kleinblecken (as Klein Kannapinnen) received the Russian name Severoje and was assigned to the village soviet Krasnogorski selski Sowet in Gusew Rajon at the same time . The Russian place name, in German north , obviously referred to the location in relation to the city of Gussew. In 1997 the spelling of the place name was changed to Severny. From 2008 to 2013 Severny belonged to the rural municipality Kubanowskoje selskoje posselenije and since then to the urban district of Gusew.

Kleinbleckens to the Protestant church and was incorporated into the parish of the parish Niebudszen (the place was called Niebudschen between 1936 and 1938 , Herzogskirch from 1938 to 1946 , today in Russian: Krasnogorskoje). She was part of the church district Gussew in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union . Today Severny is in the catchment area of ​​the Evangelical Lutheran congregation that was newly established in the 1990s at the Salzburg Church in Gussew (Gumbinnen) . It is the parish seat and belongs to the Kaliningrad provost of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia .
