Kalininskoje ( Russian Калининское , German  Augstupönen , 1938 to 1945 Hochfliess , Lithuanian Aukštupėnai ) is a place in the Russian Oblast of Kaliningrad in Gussew Rajon . The place belongs to the municipal self-government unit city district Gusew .

Geographical location

Kalininskoje is located on the eastern bank of the Rominte (Russian: Krasnaja), six kilometers southeast of the city of Gussew (Gumbinnen) . A side road (27K-114) runs through the village, which connects Lipowo (Kulligkehmen , 1938 to 1946 Ohldorf) via Sowchosnoje (Mattischkehmen) with Yasnaja Polyana (Trakehnen) . The next train station is Gussew on the Kaliningrad – Nesterow railway line (Königsberg – Stallupönen / Ebenrode) , a section of the former Prussian Eastern Railway , for onward travel to Moscow .

The later village with manor, founded before 1539 as Augstupenn , was incorporated into the newly established Kulligkehmen district (now Russian: Lipowo) in 1874, which - renamed "Ohldorf District (Eastern Prussia)" in 1939 - to the Gumbinnen district in the Gumbinnen district of the Prussian government until 1945 Province of East Prussia belonged. In 1910 Augstupönen had 445 inhabitants, of which 400 lived in the rural community and 45 in the manor district. On September 30, 1928 the manor district was incorporated into the rural community of Augstupönen. The number of inhabitants rose slightly to 448 by 1933 and was already 487 in 1939. For ideological and political reasons, Augstupönen was renamed "Hochfließ" on June 3, 1938 - officially confirmed on July 16.

As a result of the war, the place came to the Soviet Union in 1945 with all of northern East Prussia . In 1947, "Augschtupenen" was in Kalininskoje renamed and simultaneously in the village Soviet Lipowski Selski Sowet in Gusevsky District incorporated. From 2008 to 2013 Kalininskoje was the seat of a rural community and has been part of the Gusew district since then.

The rural municipality Kalininskoje selskoje posselenije (ru. Калининское сельское поселение) was established in 2008. The localities belonging to it previously belonged to the village districts Brjanski selski okrug and Lipowski selski okrug . In 2013 the places were incorporated into the newly formed urban district of Gussew .

The population of Augstupönens or Hochfliess' was predominantly of Protestant denomination before 1945 and was parish in the parish of the Szirgupönen church. Szirgupönen was called Schirgupönen from 1936 to 1938, Amtshagen from 1938 to 1946, from 1946 in Russian Dalneje; the place no longer exists.
