The Seal of Utah was established in 1896 as the official seal of the US state accepted.
symbolism
The beehive on the sign represents hard work and diligence. The beehive also reminds of the emblem of the Mormon state of Deseret in Utah and the settlement of this region by the Mormons . The year 1847 under the sign commemorates the year the Mormons came to Utah.
A bald eagle , the state bird of the United States , sits on the shield and symbolizes protection in times of peace and war. Under the arrows of the eagle is the English motto of the state: " Industry " (" Diligence "). The two US flags indicate Utah's support for the nation.
The lily symbolizes peace. For the label, the words "draws The Great Seal of the State of Utah " ( The Great Seal of the State of Utah ) and the year 1896. This year was from the Utah Territory officially today the state.
