The State of Arizona Seal was adopted in 1911 , a year before Arizona became a state .

In the inner ring there is a sign on a blue background. At the top of the shield is the Latin motto of the state:

" Ditat Deus. "( God enriches. )

Below is a scenery that depicts the landscape , climate and industry of the state.

The sun rises over a valley with high mountains.

On the right there is a water reservoir with a dam . In front of it are planted and irrigated fields and gardens. A cow is also grazing on the right. All of this demonstrates the state's agricultural resources.

There is a quartz mill with a miner on the left . This one has a pickaxe and a shovel . This represents the state's mineral resources .

On the outer ring of the English words "is Great Seal of the State of Arizona " ( Great Seal of the State of Arizona ) and the year 1912 - the year when Arizona State was.
