Geographical location

Stantin is located in Western Pomerania , about six kilometers southeast of Stolp and 100 kilometers west of the regional metropolis of Gdansk .

history

The small alley village is one of the oldest documented villages in the Stolp district . In 1281 it was mentioned under the name Stenezin in a document with which Duke Mestwin II furnished the newly founded Premonstratensian nunnery in Stolp with a tithing of the village. In 1311 the Margraves Johann V and Waldemar von Brandenburg granted the monasteries Belbuck and Stolp, among other things, freedom in exchange. The village was then called Stanescin . During the Reformation in 1522 Duke Bogislaw X placed the monastery property under his administration. The result was the Ducal Office of Stolp , which was retained as the Royal Office of Stolp after the transition from Pomerania to Brandenburg and was only dissolved again after the liberation of the peasants in 1810.

Around 1784 there were five farmers in Stantin including the free school, one Büdner and a total of seven fireplaces (households). In 1925 there were 29 houses in the village. In 1932 there was a single-stage elementary school in which a single teacher taught 43 school children. In 1939 there were 42 independent households.

Towards the end of the Second World War , Stantin was occupied by the Red Army on March 8, 1945 . In the summer of 1946 a Polish administration was set up in Stantin.
