The Gmina wiejska Słupsk is an independent rural municipality in Poland and is located in the Powiat Słupski in the Polish Pomeranian Voivodeship . The population amounts to 18,110 (June 30, 2019), and the municipality area covers 260.58 km² about 11 percent of the area of the entire district. The seat of the municipality and the district is located in the eponymous city of Słupsk [ ˈswupsk ] ( Eng . Stolp ), which as a district-free city does not belong to either institution.
The Słupsk-Redzikowo airfield ( ICAO code: EPSK) is located in the Redzikowo ( Reitz ) district of the rural community .

Neighboring communities of the rural community of Slupsk are: Damnica (dt. Hebrondamnitz ,) Dębnica Kaszubska ( Rathsdamnitz ) Główczyce ( Glowitz ) Kobylnica ( Kublitz ) Postomino ( Pustamin ) Miasto Słupsk ( city Stolp ) Smołdzino ( Schmolsin ) and the rural community Ustka ( Stolpmünde ).
The surrounding area is part of the so-called Checkered Land of the former administrative district of Köslin , in which half-timbered farmhouses with black-tarred wooden beams and whitewashed clay walls characterize the landscape. Representative in this regard is the village of Swołowo ( Schwolow ) , 15 km west of the city, which was declared a European cultural heritage after it was extensively restored for tourism with European funding.
