history

The small village called Schönberg at the time was founded as a manor on October 26, 1846. As a later Vorwerk, called Schöneberg from 1885 , it was with its brickworks - it was 250 meters west of the village - until 1945 a village within the municipality of Nikolaiken (in Polish: Mikołajki ) in the Sensburg district in the Prussian province of East Prussia .

As a result of the war, Schöneberg came to Poland in 1945 along with all of southern East Prussia and received the Polish form of the name “Stawek”. Today it is the seat of a Schulzenamt ( Polish Sołectwo ) and as such a place within the urban and rural municipality Mikołajki (Nikolaiken) in Powiat Mrągowski ( Sensburg district ), until 1998 of the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then part of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship .

church

Until 1945 Schöneberg was parish in the Protestant parish church of Nikolaiken in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic St. Adalbert parish church of Sensburg in the diocese of Warmia . Today Stawek belongs to the town of Mikołajki in terms of both denominations , which is now incorporated into the Masuria diocese of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland and the Ełk diocese in the Polish Catholic Church .

traffic

Stawek is located on a side road that leads from Mikołajki to Dybowo (Diebowen , Dommelhof from 1938 to 1945 ) . There is no connection to the rail network .
