Stephen Victor Graham

Stephen Victor Graham (born March 4, 1874 in Cass County , Michigan , †  September 2, 1955 ) was an American naval officer. Between 1927 and 1929 he was the military governor of American Samoa .

Career

In 1896 graduated from Stephen Graham, the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis ( Maryland ). He then served as an officer on various ships in the United States Navy , including the USS Cincinnati and the USS Rainbow . At the end of his military career in 1931, he reached the rank of rear admiral. Between September 9, 1927 and August 2, 1929, Graham succeeded Henry Francis Bryan as Governor of American Samoa. During this time he founded the Bank of American Samoa and supplemented the existing tax law there.

In 1931 he was promoted to rear admiral. At the same time he resigned from the Navy. Nothing is known about his further life. He died on September 2, 1955, was in San Diego ( California buried).
