Arthur Emerson

Arthur Tenney Emerson (born December 3, 1893 in Weymouth , Massachusetts , † July 28, 1975 ) was an American naval officer. In 1931 he was the military governor of American Samoa .

Career

Arthur Emerson first attended Dartmouth College in Hanover ( New Hampshire ). In 1916 he graduated from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis ( Maryland ). In the following years he served as an officer in the United States Navy . He also took part in the First World War. In 1921 he married his wife Gertrude Childs in Naples on board the USS Utah .

Arthur Emerson was acting governor of American Samoa between April 22 and July 17, 1931. After that his track is lost.
