Togiola Talalelei A. Tulafono (born February 28, 1947 in Aunuʻu ) is a politician from American Samoa and former governor of this US territory . He is a member of the Democratic Party .

As the incumbent governor Tauese Sunia on 26 March 2003 unexpectedly died, Togiola Tulafono took over as Deputy Governor the office of governor as acting and was officially confirmed it on April 7 of that year. In 2004 Tulafono was able to prevail in the November elections against his opponent Afoa Moega Lutu with 56% to 44%. In the 2008 gubernatorial elections , neither Tulafono (41%) nor its Republican rival Utu Abe Malae (31%) received the absolute majority of votes required. Tulafono clearly won the subsequent runoff election with 56.5% versus 43.5% and was thus re-elected for a further term.

A further candidacy was not possible due to a constitutional term limit, which is why Tulafono left office on January 3, 2013. His lieutenant governor Faoa Aitofele Sunia applied for Tulafono's successor, but was defeated by the non-party applicant Lolo Letalu Matalasi Moliga .
