Stewart Cink (born May 21, 1973 in Huntsville , Alabama ) is an American professional golfer of the PGA TOUR .
Career
He became a professional golfer in 1995 and after winning the Mexican Open and another three tournaments on the Nike Tour in the 1996 season, he was promoted to the PGA TOUR . There he won his first big title, the Canon Greater Hartford Open , in his first season . Cink continued to play very consistently and won the MCI Classic in 2000 . His most successful year to date was 2004 with a fifth place in the Money List and victories at the MCI Heritage and the WGC-NEC Invitational , an event of the highly endowed and best-staffed World Golf Championships tournament series. In July 2009 Cink won the most important golf tournament in the world, The Open Championship in the jump-off against the almost 60-year-old Tom Watson .
Cink has represented his country four times in the Ryder Cup and in the Presidents Cup , as well as once in the World Cup .
He is married to his wife Lisa, has two children, and is a resident of Duluth , Georgia .
