The twelve teams will play two double rounds of 22 games each. In total, each team would play 44 qualifying games. Then the best eight teams should determine the Swiss League champions in the knockout system. All playoff series are scheduled according to the best-of-seven mode. If the SL champion has received a license for the National League , he should then be able to qualify for a league with the bottom of the National League . For the first time since 2015/16, it should be possible this season that there is a relegated team. The teams in positions nine to twelve therefore contest a placement round.
