Agustín Tamames

Agustín Tamames (born October 10, 1944 in Monterrubio de la Armuña, Spain ) is a former Spanish cyclist .

Career

Agustín Tamames won the Spanish championship twice as an amateur (1966 and 1968). His professional career lasted from 1969 to 1977. He won the Tour of Spain in 1975 only once, but placed second in 1970 and also won the mountain classification that year. In 1972 he was third overall. In total, he was able to win eleven stages of the Tour of Spain.
