Terratico di Bibbona

The name Terratico di Bibbona DOC refers to Italian red and white wines from Bibbona and the surrounding area in the province of Livorno , Tuscany . The wines have had a "controlled designation of origin " (Denominazione di origine controllata - DOC ) since 2006 , which was last updated on March 7, 2014.

Cultivation

Terratico di Bibbona is a small wine-growing area. Cultivation and vinification of these wines are only permitted in the municipalities of Rosignano Marittimo , Cecina , Bibbona and Collesalvetti in the province of Livorno in the Tuscany region.

The denomination prescribes the following grape varieties for the various types of wine :

  • Terratico di Bibbona Rosso , Terratico di Bibbona Rosso "Superiore" and Terratico di Bibbona Rosato : at least 35% Sangiovese and at least 35% Merlot . A maximum of 30% other red grape varieties that are approved for cultivation in the Tuscany region may be added - individually or together.
  • Terratico di Bibbona Bianco : at least 50% Vermentino must be included. A maximum of 50% other white grape varieties that are approved for cultivation in the Tuscany region may be added - individually or together. (Was not created in 2014.)
  • The grape variety mentioned must contain at least 85% of the following wines. A maximum of 15% other analogue grape varieties that are approved for cultivation in the Tuscany region may be added:
