Parrina

Under the name Parrina DOC , Italian white , rosé and red wines as well as Vin Santo are produced from the municipality of Orbetello in the province of Grosseto , Tuscany . Parrina is also an area in the Tuscan Maremma between the towns of Albina and Ansendonia and the Monte Argentario peninsula . The wines have had a "controlled designation of origin " ( Denominazione di origine controllata - DOC) since 1971 , which was last updated on March 7, 2014.

Cultivation

Harvesting and vinification are permitted in parts of the municipality of Orbetello.

According to the denomination, the following types of wine can be produced from prescribed grape varieties :

Blending wines

  • Parrina Rosso and Parrina Rosso “Riserva” as well as Parrina Rosato : at least 70% Sangiovese must be included. The rest can be other red grape varieties, with the exception of Aleatico , approved for growing in the Tuscany region.
  • Parrina Bianco and Parrina Vin Santo : Trebbiano Toscano 10–30%, Ansonica 30–50%, Vermentino 20–40%, Chardonnay and / or Sauvignon (individually or together) 20%. The rest can be other white grape varieties, with the exception of Moscato Bianco , approved for growing in the Tuscany region.
