The name Terre di Pisa DOC is used to describe Italian red wines from the province of Pisa ( Tuscany ). The wines have had a "controlled designation of origin " (Denominazione di origine controllata - DOC ) since 2011 , which was last updated on March 7, 2014.

Cultivation

Cultivation and vinification of these wines are only possible in the municipalities of Fauglia , Crespina , Lari , Chianni , Capannoli , Palaia , Peccioli , Terricciola , Casciana Terme , Ponsacco , Pontedera , Montopoli in Val d'Arno , Lajatico , San Miniato , Orciano Pisano , Lorenzana and Santa Luce in the province of Pisa (Tuscany region).

  • Terre di Pisa Rosso : At least 70% Sangiovese , Cabernet Sauvignon , Merlot and Syrah - individually or together. A maximum of 30% other red grape varieties approved for cultivation in the Tuscany region may be added.
  • Terre di Pisa Sangiovese : At least 95% Sangiovese. A maximum of 5% of other red grape varieties approved for cultivation in the Tuscany region may be added.
