The Blueprint²: The Gift & The Curse is the seventh studio album and the first double album by the US rapper Jay-Z . It was released on November 12, 2002. Some pieces from the album were re-released on the album The Blueprint 2.1 in 2003.

This album, like Jay-Z's previous albums, debuted again at # 1 , with over 545,000 units sold in its first week of release. To date, the album has sold over two million units in the United States. The album was criticized for its pop-oriented sound.
The first CD, The Gift, has more upbeat and more party songs, including the hit single '03 Bonnie & Clyde and Excuse Me Miss . The Curse contains more heavier rap and hip-hop songs.
At the 2004 Grammy Awards , The Blueprint²: The Gift & The Curse was nominated in the Best Rap Album category, but was defeated by OutKast's Speakerboxxx / The Love Below .
