history
The Landwehrhagen savings and loan association was founded in 1894, and its first statute was drawn up on November 12, 1894. In the 1960s there were several mergers with neighboring cooperative banks. In 1962 , the savings and loan banks Speele were taken over , in 1963 the savings and loan banks in Sichelnstein and Lutterberg , in 1965 the Raiffeisenkasse Escherode , in 1966 the Raiffeisenbank Uschlag and in 1968 the Raiffeisenkasse Benterode . The name of the Landwehrhagen savings and loan bank was changed to Raiffeisenbank eG .
In May 1987 the merger with Volksbank Dransfeld eG was decided. The name of the united bank was Volksbank eG, Dransfeld-Staufenberg . The seat remained in Staufenberg-Landwehrhagen.
The next merger took place in 1991 through the takeover of Raiffeisenbank Groß Schneen eG , based in Friedland-Groß Schneen.
With the takeover of Volksbank Hann. Münden eG in 1994 and the name changed to Volksbank eG , the scope of the bank's business area was expanded again. In December 1995, the headquarters were relocated from Staufenberg to Dransfeld and the name was changed to Volksbank eG Dransfeld Groß Schneen Hann. Münden Staufenberg decided.
In the further course of the bank's history, the goods business was expanded extensively. Several mergers with pure goods cooperatives took place: in 1998 with the producer group for quality grain Dransfeld eG , in 2006 with Raiffeisen-Warengenossenschaft eG based in Hardegsen and in 2011 with Kornhaus Duderstadt eG .
Also in 2011 the name was changed from Volksbank eG Dransfeld Groß Schneen Hann. Münden Staufenberg in today's name.
At the meeting of representatives on June 24, 2013, the takeover of Volksbank eG based in Dassel was decided. The entry in the cooperative register took place on October 11, 2013. With the merger, the bank's business area was expanded to include the four locations Dassel, Edemissen, Lauenberg and Sülbeck and thus an area completely separated from the original business area.
In June 2017, the merger with the neighboring Volksbank Weserbergland eG in Holzminden was concluded. The merger created a cooperative bank with a managed customer volume of around 1.8 billion euros, 170 million euros in equity and around 330 employees. The head office of the bank is in Holzminden.
