Vyacheslav Wassyljowitsch Sahorodnjuk ( Ukrainian В'ячеслав Васильович Загороднюк ; Russian Вячеслав Васильевич Загороднюк / Vyacheslav Vasilyevich Sagorodnjuk; English Vyacheslav Zahorodnyuk * 11. August 1972 in Odessa , Ukrainian SSR , Soviet Union ) is a former Ukrainian figure skaters , who in the individual race started. He is the European champion of 1996 .

Sahorodnjuk initially represented the USSR and after its disintegration the Ukraine. His coaches were Galina Smijewskaja and later Valentin Nikolajew .

In 1989 Sahorodnyuk won the Junior World Championship . At the figure skating world championships in 1994 he won his only world championship medal with bronze behind Elvis Stojko and Philippe Candeloro . In 1996 he became European champion in Sofia . In total, he won six medals at European championships .

In April 1998 he ended his amateur career and turned professional . He played figure skaters in several film and television productions. For example in The Christmas Angel: A Story on Ice . He currently works as a trainer in Richmond , Virginia .
