From the west end of the Western Distributor (Met-4 / S40) in Rozelle, Victoria Road runs northwest over the Iron Cove Bridge , through Drummoyne and crosses the Parramatta River on the Gladesville Bridge . On the north bank of the river, the road runs upstream through the suburbs of Gladesville , Ryde , West Ryde , Ermington, and Rydalmere .
From there it continues west, where it ends in Parramatta town center on Church Street . This also takes over the numbering of Victoria Road as State Road 40 (S40).
