Vitória Cristina Silva Rosa (born January 12, 1996 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a Brazilian sprinter .

Athletic career

Vitória Cristina Rosa gained her first experience in international championships at the Youth World Championships in Donetsk in 2013. There she reached the semi-finals over 100 meters and was eliminated from the Brazilian sprint relay in the preliminary round. In 2014 she qualified for the Junior World Championships in Eugene , where she again reached the semifinals over 100 and 200 meters. In addition, she reached the finals with the relay, but could not finish her run there. At the U23 South American Championships in Montevideo , she won the bronze medal in the 100 meters and gold with the 4 x 100 meter relay. At the South American Championships in Lima , she just missed a medal in fourth over 100 meters and with the relay she won silver behind the team from Venezuela. This was followed by participation in the Pan American Junior Championships in Edmonton , Canada , where she won silver over 200 meters and finished fifth over 100 meters. Shortly thereafter, she reached the semi-finals over 200 meters at the Pan American Games in Toronto and was fourth with the season. With her performances she also qualified for the World Championships in Beijing , where she was eliminated over 200 meters in the preliminary round and also eliminated with the relay in the preliminary round. In October she won gold with the relay at the Military World Games in Mungyeong, South Korea, and finished seventh in the 200 meter run.

In 2016 she took part in the Ibero-American Championships in Rio de Janeiro for the first time , where she was eliminated in the preliminary round over 200 meters. A little later she failed at the Olympic Games over 200 meters to reach the semi-finals . At the U23 South American Championships in Lima, she won over 200 meters and won silver with the Brazilian relay. In 2017, the Brazilian team made it to the final of the World Relays in the Bahamas , but could not finish their run there. At the South American Championships in Luque she won with the Brazilian team and also won the gold medal over 200 meters. At the World Championships in London , she reached the semi-finals over 200 meters and also finished seventh in the relay . In 2018 she qualified over 60 meters for the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham , where she was eliminated in the first round with 7.39 s. At the South American Games in Cochabamba she won over 200 meters in 22.87 s and won the bronze medal in the 100-meter run in 11.23 s behind the two Ecuadorians Narcisa Landázuri and Ángela Tenorio . Then she won in both competitions at the Ibero-American Championships in Trujillo and also at the Athletics Continental Cup in Ostrava with the South American 4 x 100 meter relay. At the U23 South American Championships in Cuenca, she won over 200 meters in 23.04 s and won the silver medal over 100 meters in 11.17 s.

In 2019 she finished fourth in the World Relays in Yokohama in 43.75 s and then won three gold medals at the South American Championships in Lima. In July she reached the finals at the Summer Universiade in Naples over 100 meters, where she finished fifth in 11.41 s. At the Pan American Games in Lima in 2019 , she competed in three disciplines. Over 100 meters she won the bronze medal in 11.30 seconds behind the Jamaican Elaine Thompson and Michelle-Lee Ahye from Trinidad and Tobago, over 200 meters she was second behind Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce from Jamaica with a new best time of 22.62 seconds and with Brazil's 4 x 100 meter relay she won gold in 43.04 s. So she qualified for the World Championships in Doha , where she was eliminated over 100 meters with 11.41 s in the lead , as well as over 200 meters with 23.81 s. In addition, she was disqualified with the relay in the preliminary round .

In 2017 and 2018, Rosa was the Brazilian champion in the 200-meter run and in 2018 also over 100 meters and in the 4 x 100 meter relay.
