geography

The village is located on the left bank of the Wörnitz across from Weiltingen and is surrounded by arable land and grassland with a few trees. In the north-west the corridor is called the moor field (there is also a tree that is protected as a natural monument), in the north the sand field. A community road leads to State Road 2385 near Ruffenhofen (1.5 km northeast) or to Neumühle (2 km southwest).

history

The Fraisch over Wörnitzhofen was controversial. It was claimed by both the Ansbach Oberamt Wassertrüdingen and the Oberamt Aufkirchen in Oettingen-Spielberg . The imperial city of Dinkelsbühl wanted to assert them on their estates. The village and community rulership was disputed between the caste office Wassertrüdingen and the Oberamt Aufkirchen. Towards the end of the 18th century there were 16 properties and a community shepherd's house in Wörnitzhofen. The landlords were the Kastenamt Wassertrüdingen (1 economy, 1 Gütlein), the Oberamt Aufkirchen (1 Sölde ), the Württemberg Oberamt Weiltingen (1 courtyard, 2 half yards, 5 Sölden estates , 1 drip house ), the imperial city of Dinkelsbühl (Reichsalmosenpflege: 1 half yard; hospital: 1 yard) and the Deutschordisches Obervogtamt Oettingen (1 yard, 1 Sölde).

From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice and Chamber Office Wassertrüdingen .

1806 Wörnitzhofen came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . As a result of the community edict , the place was assigned to the tax district and rural community of Wittelshofen formed in 1809 . In 1813 the place came to the rural community of Untermichelbach. With the second community edict (1818), the rural community Wörnitzhofen was formed. It was subordinate to the Dinkelsbühl regional court in terms of administration and jurisdiction and to the Dinkelsbühl tax office ( renamed Dinkelsbühl tax office in 1919 , Ansbach tax office since 1973 ). The jurisdiction remained with the District Court of Dinkelsbühl until 1879, from 1879 to 1973 the District Court of Dinkelsbühl was responsible, which has been a branch of the District Court of Ansbach since 1973 . The administration was taken over by the newly created Dinkelsbühl district office in 1862 (renamed the Dinkelsbühl district in 1938 ). The municipality had an area of 2.230 km².

In the course of the regional reform , Wörnitzhofen was incorporated into the Weiltingen market on January 1, 1971.
