The venue was the Parque Aquático Maria Lenk ( Maria Lenk Water Park) , which was built in 2007 and is part of the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Park in the Barra da Tijuca district. A total of eight competitions were held there: one single and one synchronized jumping from the 3-meter board and from the 10-meter tower for women and men. The additional category of the mixed team competition introduced in the previous World Cup ( Shanghai, 2014 ) was not repeated. The most successful team was again the team from China , which won six gold and four silver medals. In the Olympic year, entry into the World Cup semi-finals in each of the eight competition categories is accompanied by a qualification for the Summer Olympic Games .
