World Cup in diving 2012
The FINA Diving World Cup in 2012 was one of the FINA organized series of competitions in water jump that from 20 to 26 February, 2012. London took place. The venue was the Aquatics Center . A total of eight competitions were held, one individual and one synchronized jumping from the 3-meter board and from the 10-meter tower for women and men.
The World Cup was also the pre-Olympic test competition and the most important qualifying competition for the 2012 Olympic Games . In the individual disciplines, all 18 semi-finalists won an Olympic quota for their NOK , unless they had already qualified through the World Cup . In the synchronous disciplines, the four best placed, not yet qualified couples received a quota place.
The competitions were again dominated by the Chinese athletes, who won all eight titles and eleven of twelve possible medals. In total, jumpers from eight countries were able to win medals. The German team was represented in six finals and won a bronze medal in the 10-meter synchronized jumping through Sascha Klein and Patrick Hausding . The German team achieved one quota place each in the individual competitions, but missed the two possible quota places in the synchronized competitions. Athletes from Austria and Switzerland missed the Olympic quota places.
